About the Event
Lisa Jewell was born in London in 1968. Her first novel, Ralph’s Party, was published in 1999. It was the bestselling debut novel of the year. Since then she has published another 16 novels, most lately a number of dark psychological thrillers, including The Girls and Then She Was Gone (both of which were Richard and Judy Book Club picks).
She appears in conversation with Paul Burston, originator and curator of the Polari salon, along with the literary sparkle of Will Brooker, Ben Fergusson and Carolyn Robertson who all read from their latest work.
Lisa Jewell is a top ten New York Times and number one Sunday Times author who has been published worldwide in over 25 languages.
Polari is both storybook and comment on LGBTQ+ lives, showcasing new and established literary talent, and attracting powerful cultural voices.
