About the Event

Our first Bitch Lit of the new decade will discuss Posy Simmonds' irreverent and satirical graphic novel Gemma Bovary, 'a tour de force of comic storytelling' (Observer).

Originally published as a serial in The Guardian, it tells the tragicomic story of the life and death of an English expatriate in Normandy, drawing metatextual parallels to Gustave Flaubert's Madame Bovary with characteristic wit and charm.

Numbers strictly limited, please book promptly to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are £8 or £6 for students and Plus cardholders and include a glass of wine or soft drink. Books for next month's Bitch Lit will be on sale.
