Douglas Stuart burst fully-formed onto the literary landscape with his astonishing masterpiece Shuggie Bain, the deserving winner of the 2020 Booker Prize. Set against the backdrop of Thatcher’s Glasgow, the book covers poverty and addiction, childhood trauma and coming of age, and, at its heart, is about the love between a mother and her son.
Douglas Stuart will be joined in conversation by the National Poet for Scotland, fellow novelist and Glaswegian Jackie Kay.
