To celebrate the launch of Gill Paul's The Second Marriage, Avon Books are delighted to bringing you four brilliant historical fiction authors, with support from Historia Magazine, as they discuss their newest novels, history and their favourite cocktails.
 
This event is free to attend, however we do encourage you to support the authors in any way you can and all their recent books are available to order online now. You will receive a confirmation email once you register, and on the day of the event itself will be sent details for attendance. Please ensure you have downloaded Zoom. We will be taking questions on the day of the event via the chat function.
 
Gill Paul is an author of historical fiction, specialising in the twentieth century and often writing about the lives of real women. Her novels have topped bestseller lists in the US and Canada as well as the UK and have been translated into twenty languages. The Secret Wife has sold over half a million copies and is a book-club favourite worldwide. She is also the author of several non-fiction books on historical subjects. She lives in London and swims year-round in a wild pond. The Second Marriage is her ninth novel.
 
Dinah Jefferies was born in Malaysia and moved to England at the age of nine. Her idyllic childhood always held a special place in her imagination, and she has written seven bestselling books set in South-East-Asia, including The Tea Planter's Wife – a Sunday Times Number One. Her latest, The Tuscan Contessa, set in Italy during WW2, marks a change of direction and will be followed by a trilogy. Two of her novels have been Richard & Judy Book Club picks and she is translated into 28 languages. She lives in Gloucestershire.
 
Tracy Rees has been called "the most outstanding new voice in historical fiction" by Lucinda Riley and her books are paperback and kindle bestsellers. She was the winner of the Richard and Judy 'Search for a Bestseller' Competition. A Cambridge graduate, she had a successful eight-year career in nonfiction publishing and a second career practising and teaching humanistic counselling before becoming a writer. She lives in Wales.
 
Hazel Gaynor is an award-winning, New York Times, USA Today, and Irish Times, bestselling author of historical fiction, including The Lighthouse Keeper's Daughter, which was shortlisted for the 2019 HWA Gold Crown award. Her latest novel, The Bird in the Bamboo Cage, is set in China during WW2. She is translated into fifteen languages and published in 21 countries. Hazel is co-founder of creative writing events, The Inspiration Project, and lives in Ireland with her family.
